Teaching Philosophy
Students, as image-bearers of a creative God, have an inherent desire to create beauty, and I am committed to guiding them in developing their artistic skills to glorify God and enrich others. Kindness is required in my classroom, ensuring the safe community that best fosters vulnerability and exploration in student work. This approach often results in new confidence in my students as they discover the wonderful things they are capable of creating.

Sharing art with children is one of the greatest joys of my life. My students teach me to see things anew with their childlike wonder, endless humor, and many, many questions.
My bachelor of arts degree in art and graphic design has prepared me to instruct in a diverse array of mediums including ceramics, printmaking, digital art, drawing, various painting techniques and more. The resulting lessons I share with my students lead them not to a uniform result that matches an example, but to unique ideas and new skills they may continue to use and build upon.
